When I decided to move to England last year, this past Father’s Day weekend was the type of photographic utopia that I imagined. I went to Salisbury, Stonehenge, Bath, and Oxford during a three-day pilgrimage with my church family here in England.\u00a0 Those of you who have followed my photographic journey know that Deborah,\u00a0Jordyn\u00a0and I visited Stonehenge and Salisbury last year.\u00a0 Unfortunately, Deborah and\u00a0De’Lawren\u00a0did not attend\u00a0this event.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

It started with a bus ride from\u00a0RAF\u00a0Alconbury\u00a0to RAF\u00a0Fairford\u00a0where we stayed during the weekend.\u00a0 Each morning we had breakfast and devotion to start our day.\u00a0 The first\u00a0stop was to Salisbury where we toured the famous cathedral.\u00a0 Afterwards, we traveled approximately a half an hour to Stonehenge and we stayed there for approximately 1.5 hours (I love to take photos.\u00a0 However, spending nearly two hours walking around large stones is way too much time).

The next day we traveled to Bath.\u00a0 The city of Bath is simply stunning!\u00a0 As we drove into the town,\u00a0I saw\u00a0clusters of homes built along the side of the hill.\u00a0 There are breath-taking views throughout the city.\u00a0 This town is indicative of Europe.\u00a0 It is an English town that was built during\u00a0the Roman’s ruling period.\u00a0 The architecture of several landscapes\u00a0speaks\u00a0to that influence.\u00a0 There were some many picturesque sites that I knew I had to return even before I got off the bus.<\/span><\/p>\n

We started with the tour of the Roman baths.\u00a0 I took the time to listen and read about the history because I often go to places, take some photos, then I leave not knowing much than when I arrived.\u00a0 A friend and I walked around grabbed some more shots before we did a tour of the Bath Abbey.\u00a0 The Abbey like most cathedrals in England has the large bells that chime throughout the day.\u00a0 When we did our tour, we went to the room containing the large bells\u2026and guess what.\u00a0 While the guide explained how often the bells chime, they began ringing!!!\u00a0 Thankfully, we all left with our hearing intact.\u00a0 The day concluded with two fellow participants getting baptized in the Avon River in Bath.\u00a0 That was spectacular to witness.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

The third and final day began with an attempt to worship at Christ Church in Oxford.\u00a0 We arrived too late.\u00a0 Therefore, we had a private service in public.\u00a0 We had a short devotion near the church grounds.\u00a0 We spent the day with a guide explaining the various religious monuments and the history of the Protestant church as they dealt with the Roman Catholic establishment and those who died for their faith.<\/span><\/p>\n

There was much to learn and take from this weekend.\u00a0 It’s difficult to articulate how fortunate and blessed I felt to learn about the English history this weekend and take some photos of the gorgeous landscape.\u00a0 This is what I envisioned when I decided to move to England.\u00a0 I wish more of my family could’ve participated in the event.\u00a0 Nevertheless, I think I took some great images<\/a> <\/span>to share with them and you all. \u00a0Thanks for taking the time to visit.<\/span><\/p>\n
